Who we are
We offer full, wood window restoration.
A significant percentage of historic homes built before 1942 in Charlotte, N.C., feature double-hung wood windows. Unfortunately, almost all are in various states of disrepair.
First and foremost, vital glazing putty is all too often failing and merely repeatedly painted rather than properly removed, replaced and recoated.
Other issues include failing paint, broken or rotted sashes and cracked or missing glass.
On top of this, very few, if any, windows operate properly — having been painted, caulked and/or spray-foamed shut. And if a sash does function, years of lead paint, which was not banned until 1978, release harmful dust and/or paint chips.
